The Tennessee State Society was organized on 8 March 1932 in Chattanooga. Eighteen years later the Chattanooga Chapter was organized. On November 13, 2025, the Chattanooga Chapter celebrated its 75th anniversary at the Black Creek Clubhouse in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mrs. William Franklin Stone served as the Tennessee Organizing State Regent. Mrs. Stone would serve as NSDAC National President from 1937-1940.
The Chattanooga Chapter was organized as the first chapter in Tennessee on 2 October 1950 with Mrs. Stone this time serving as Organizing Chapter Regent. National President Mrs. Jerome Powers installed the chapter at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. On 6 October 1950, the Jamestown Chapter in Memphis was installed as the second chapter in the state. Edith Nancy Brown Stone was born 5 Nov 1889 in Chattanooga. She passed away 24 Mar 1961 in Chattanooga and is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery. Following the chapter anniversary celebration, members visited her grave to lay flowers. It was fitting that a large oak tree shades the area.
