Knoxville Chapter was organized 12 April 1954 by Mrs. James H. Burke.
The chapter celebrated 65 wonderful years in 2019. We meet on the 4th Wednesday in October, January, March and May at 10:30 a.m. at Fox Den Country Club. We are a patriotic, historical, and educational society. Some of our yearly activities include awarding medals, certificates and donations to JROTC cadets at two local high schools, to an Army and Air Force ROTC cadet at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and by supporting our local USO with snack care packages.
Our package in 2019 was more than 16 lbs. of goodies. During the three-year term of our 2021-2024 National President Mary Armstrong our chapter has supported her project by purchasing copies of a book, Colonial Klaus in Thomas Jefferson's House. The chapter has donated three copies of this book to the local library system and members and friends have purchased copies for their personal use.
